We are honored that many individuals have a strong desire to help raise funds for the Wounded EOD Warrior Foundation Undefeated Bike Ride presented by Paladar Navy Cycling. Please keep in mind Paladar Navy Cycling, and Wounded EOD Warrior Foundation do not endorse any products or services that are a part of your activity or event.

The information below is made available to participants by WEODWF Undefeated Bike Ride. The intent of this Independent Fundraising Event information is to assist in the achievement of individual and team fundraising goals.

Neither WEODWF Undefeated Bike Ride, a related entity, nor an employed individual thereof, assumes any legal liability or responsibility for the completeness or usefulness of any information herein, or assumes any responsibility or liability associated with a participant’s fundraising activities.

What is an IFE?

An IFE is an Independent Fundraising Event or initiative, organized by an individual or group of individuals, aimed at raising money for Wounded EOD Warrior Foundation through WEODWF Undefeated Bike Ride. All funds raised through an IFE are credited to one or more participant’s fundraising goal.

Can you give me some examples of Independent Fundraising Events?

Sure! A few examples include:

  • Product Sales. Many organizations sell products ranging from candles to cookie dough to candy bars. Online websites can help you see some of the different products your group could sell.
  • Auctions. Whether you want to do a silent auction or hire an auctioneer, auctions are a great way to raise money. Get local businesses and organization members to donate items and services. The up front cost on this can be very low and you can make a great deal of money depending on the items up for bid. Advertise your event and you''re likely to get a wide range of community members attending as well.
  • Themed Dinners. many groups have spaghetti dinners, soup suppers, or other special food offerings. This not only brings the community and organization together, but you can raise money as well. Some charge per person, per item, or ask for donations.
  • Garage Sale. Several garage sales have been held and all proceeds benefited the hosting team.
  • Car Washes
  • Pub Crawl

To view the ongoing and upcoming IFEs visit the 2011 events page. Use this form to post your own event!

We encourage you to diversify your fundraising initiatives so that it allows people with different schedules and preferences to participate. Tell other riders about your fundraising events you have already has planned as an encouragement for them to join you.

How does the money get split by a group of individuals?

This can work 3 different ways:

  1. All proceeds are split equally among all team members.
  2. If selling items, proceeds go to the individual who sold the products.

Who decides how it gets split?

The individual(s) decides how the proceeds get split.

How do we submit the proceeds from our IFE?

Use the Donation Worksheet (Word doc) to divide the proceeds among the individual(s)and mail to the address listed on the form. Ideally, submit IFE proceeds by check. Credit card donations made online cannot be divided between individual team members.

Can we use Undefeated Bike Ride logo to promote our IFE?

We have created a special logo for this purpose. Please do not use the official Dempsey Challenge logo for an IFE.

Can we promote our IFE on Undefeated Bike Ride website?

Sure! Send us your flier or other promotional material to info@eodride.org and upon approval we will add it to the IFE page on our website.

Can I use your Tax ID Number when I receive an in kind donation for my IFE?

It’s interesting the way this works. You can’t actually use our EIN (or tax) # because we are not the ones receiving the donation. We call these types of events Independent Fundraising Events because they are being organized and conducted in every aspect by the participants – not us. We have no control of the monies coming in and going out and therefore need to be careful about how our tax exempt/non-profit number is used.
